Learn More About Bathroom Heaters

Though many newer homes come with heating systems that include the bathroom, there are many older homes that have systems that might not include the bathroom as much as you would like. This means that when you get out of a shower or bath you may feel chilled, and there is not much fun in that. This also means that if you have young ones they are going to feel chilled in the bathroom as well. No one wants this, so they think of ways to keep the bathroom warm. Though you can get bathroom heaters rather easily, you do need to make sure you get the right ones.

Though our choices for bathroom heaters are numerous, there is one type of heater that you should never use in such a small place. I used to have a neighbor who had a kerosene heater in her bathroom and I couldn’t believe she didn’t know how dangerous that was. They should never be used as bathroom heaters because the fumes could very quickly build up to dangerous levels. There is also a flame to deal with, and they should never be in a room where the flame can be near towels and clothing.

If you have the room, you can get great space heaters for your bathroom heaters. They should be the kind that run on electricity and have no exposed heat elements that can catch your clothing or towels on fire. If you can find bathroom heaters that are made specifically for a bathroom, you can be pretty sure that you have found a good one. There are some that are small, and others that are larger if you have a roomier bath to heat.

There are some types that look like the radiators that some older homes have. They plug into the wall and can sit almost anywhere you need them, and they might be the best looking of the bathroom heaters. There are some I have seen that are just a foot wide and others that are two or three feet wide. They heat evenly and only when you need them. The best thing about these types of bathroom heaters is that you can plug them in when you need them, and turn them off when you don’t. Most people who use them leave them on low and then turn them up to high when they want to shower or bathe. That way they room is nice and toasty when they come out of the shower.
