The Truth About Blood Stains

When I thought about writing about blood stains I had to giggle a little. I got to thinking about the types of people that would be looking up such a term, and I had visions of mobsters trying to figure out how to get blood out of a carpet. That, of course, is silly, but that’s what watching television will do to you. At any rate, there are legitimate reasons for wanting to get blood out of things, and it doesn’t mean you have done anything you were not supposed to be doing.

Women, for one, need to have knowledge about how to remove blood stains for many reasons. We all know about our monthly cycle, and we all know that no matter how hard or we try, there are going to be accidents. You may go a year without a problem, but you can bet you are going to have to deal with blood stains some time. Life is too imperfect. There’s no way you can avoid it until it is no longer an issue. Unless you can sit home for one week out of every month, you are going to have to contend with an accident at one time or another. If you have heavy periods you may have to deal with them all the time.

Women and men who are parents must worry about blood stains as well. We watch over our children, but we all know accidents can happen. There will be times when your child will have a cut, or your child may get a blood nose. When these things happen, you know there are going to be some blood stains that you must contend with. Though detergents have gotten better through the years, there are still some things you should do to make sure an article of clothing or even a piece of furniture is not permanently stained with blood.

My mother always told me that you put cold water on any blood stains you may find, and you should do it immediately. If the article is small enough you should run it under a steady stream of very cold water to get as much out as you can, and then you should wash it before the blood stains are allowed to dry. If the stain has dried, you should use a stain remover on the blood, but you should know that this isn’t always going to work.
