Discover The Art Of Butterfly Quilt Pattern

Quilting is a tradition in my family. For this reason, I not only have a great deal of time and energy invested in the craft, I also have a great collection of quilts in my home. I was taken back when I recently came across a butterfly quilt pattern on the Internet. The quilting design itself wasn’t a surprise to me. The notion that I have never completed a butterfly quilt pattern myself was the surprise.

There are plenty of options in this theme but I never saw one that inspired me enough to take on the challenge. Your typical butterfly quilt pattern will pose some real obstacles but there are some that are quite simple in design. After coming across the butterfly quilting design I figured that I should give one a try.

Finding the right pattern for me was a real challenge because I wanted to find something that was not too easy to complete but I also wanted something that wasn’t too intricate. I imagined spending way too much time and effort on a really difficult butterfly quilt pattern. I wanted to avoid getting into anything too involved.

The reason that I didn’t want to spend too much time and energy on the project was that I had quite a bit on my plate at the time. Between baby quilting patterns and wedding quilts I had my hands full with projects. The butterfly quilt pattern was something that I was doing for myself and no one else. Other projects took precedence.

After sorting through various options I came across three quilting designs in this motif that I found inspiring. Since this project was for me, I decided to choose colors and images that appealed to my particular tastes. Finding the right butterfly quilt pattern was tough but I have it narrowed down to three.

One pattern is called Flutterflies and it is designed by the quilting expert Janice Davis. What is so appealing about this design is the overall look that is inspired by quilts made in the 1930’s. This butterfly quilt pattern is on the top of my list.

Another design in this motif inspired by the 1930’s is the Jewel Butterfly quilt pattern. The colors on this design really pop and I think that I might have a hard time turning away from this inspiring pattern.

It looks as if I will probably be completing two projects in this case. I just can’t choose one over the other. Now I just have to decide which butterfly quilt pattern I will complete first.
