Choosing The Right Paint Tools
I can’t go anywhere quickly if I need to use the trunk. My husband is in construction, and our car is his work truck. They keep promising him he’s getting a company van, but I have yet to see him drive one home. We decided it’s not worth buying one of our own if he is going to get one from work, so for now, he uses the car. On any given day, there are more work and paint tools in my trunk than I can manage, and finding space for even a few bags of groceries is impossible. When I have to take the car to go away for a few days, we have to spend hours clearing out the trunk. It’s become tiresome.
I tried to get him a box to keep all of his paint tools in, but he has it at the job site and not in the car. It has a handle and wheels so it gets around easily, but he never leaves it in the trunk. While it has somewhat cut down on the number of paint tools in my trunk, it certainly has not eliminated the problem. I may just have to suffer until the day his company finally hands over the keys to a work van. Then, perhaps, my days of fighting with paint tools and other work items will be long gone. A girl can dream, anyway.
Some people have this problem in their homes. If you are a homeowner, chances are good you have a bunch of paint tools somewhere. Chances are also good that you can’t figure out what to do with them, and they are always in the way. Even paint tools that are left in the garage are a pain because it is hard to store them. You might try keeping them in the attic, but then it is a pain to go up there every single time you need one of your paint tools. You may think you don’t need them often, but just try putting them away and see what happens.
You might want to visit a home store and buy something designed to keep a garage or workspace organized to help you keep your paint tools under controls. Sometimes, there are boards you can buy that have multiple spaces for hanging, and sometimes, this is the best way to keep paint tools organized. Remember to keep your brushes in a sealed container to avoid dust and debris. Nothing will ruin a paint job faster than a dusty brush.
